Can I lay sod over existing pasture grass?
It’s not a good idea. Clear the existing grass and weeds, loosen the soil, and rake it smooth first. Sod roots best into loose, bare soil.
What sod handles post oak shade?
Fescue handles the most shade. In spots with a few hours of sun, Zoysia is a good alternative.
