Is TifTuf right for your yard?
TifTuf is a good fit if you:
- Have a yard in full sun for most of the day. Under big trees or on the north side of a house, Bermuda thins out; look at Zoysia or Fescue for those spots.
- Care about water use. It’s bred to use less water, which helps on open, windy lots through Oklahoma summers.
- Want a finer, softer, greener look than standard Bermuda, while keeping Bermuda’s toughness with kids and dogs.
Like all Bermuda, it spreads by runners, grows fast in summer, and needs regular mowing.

TifTuf in winter: dormant sod
After the first hard frost, Bermuda goes dormant: it turns tan and stops growing, but it’s still alive. It greens back up in spring once the soil warms.
